Donna Mark Obituary, Death; – A pedestrian was tragically struck and killed by a vehicle in Hanson, as announced by Plymouth County District Attorney Timothy J. Cruz and Hanson Police Chief Michael Miksch. On Tuesday, December 3, at approximately 6:08 p.m., Hanson Police received a 911 call reporting a collision between a car and a pedestrian near 22 Main Street.
Upon arrival, law enforcement and emergency personnel found the female victim on the roadway, exhibiting significant injuries to her lower limbs. While Hanson EMS was preparing to transport her to a designated landing area for a Medflight helicopter, her condition deteriorated. Subsequently, she was transported by ambulance to South Shore Hospital, where she was pronounced dead. The victim has been identified as 76-year-old Donna Mark from Pembroke.
In response to the incident, Hanson Police reached out to the Massachusetts State Police Detective Unit, which is affiliated with the Plymouth County District Attorney’s Office, to initiate an investigation.
Initial findings suggest that Mark was attempting to cross the street when a motorist traveling eastward stopped to let her pass. As she proceeded north across the eastbound lane, she walked directly in front of a white Honda CRV, which subsequently struck her. The female driver of the Honda CRV remained at the scene following the incident.
The investigation is currently ongoing, with Hanson Police officials indicating that the State Police are leading the inquiry. As of the time of this report, a request for an update from DA Cruz’s office had not been answered.
