Donavon Deleon Obituary, Death;- Police have identified the two men involved in a deadly shooting Thursday night at Edgewood Homes that left two people dead and a woman critically injured.
Lawrence police responded around 8 p.m. to a shooting call at 1600 Haskell Ave., where they found 21-year-old Javien Hardin inside a vehicle from a gunshot wound. Police found 24-year-old Donavon Deleon with what officers believe a self-inflicted gunshot wound.
A 22-year-old Lawrence woman was also found with life-threatening injuries. She remains in critical condition. Police said Friday they believe Deleon and the woman had recently ended a relationship. Detectives said the woman arrived home to find Deleon inside her home.
After a confrontation, she ran to a vehicle occupied by Hardin. According to police, Deleon allegedly shot and killed Hardin, then shot the woman before taking his own life. Both men were from Lawrence.
