Donald Lynn Archibald Obituary, Death; – A Bradford County man is dead after a motorcycle crash over the weekend in the Town of Nichols. New York State Police at Owego identified the victim as Donald Lynn Archibald, 40, of Sayre.
Around 1 a.m. Saturday, the Tioga County 911 Center dispatched state troopers to South Main Street in the Town of Nichols for a report of a single-vehicle crash involving a motorcycle.
Arriving troopers located Archibald, who was pronounced dead at the scene, and a heavily damaged Suzuki motorcycle nearby, state police said.
An investigation at the scene determined Archibald was traveling on South Main Street when, for an unknown reason, he went off the roadway, striking a utility pole. Archibald was ejected from the motorcycle on impact, troopers said.
Archibald was a 2003 graduate of Tioga Central High School, where he was a star running back on the football team, according to his obituary. He worked at BestBev in Waverly, the obituary stated.
The investigation into the fatal crash is continuing.
