Donald Gunstrom Obituary, Death; – A 71-year-old man was shot and killed in the Chief Garry Park area over the weekend, as confirmed by the Spokane County Medical Examiner’s Office. Donald Gunstrom succumbed to injuries from both gunshot wounds and blunt force trauma, according to a news release.
Law enforcement officials arrived shortly after 10 a.m. in response to the shooting incident near the intersection of Riverton Avenue and Lacey Street, as stated in a Spokane Police Department news release. Upon arrival, officers discovered Gunstrom and attempted to provide life-saving measures; however, he was pronounced dead at the scene.
Detectives indicated that the shooting was not believed to be a random act, as noted in the release. To date, no arrests have been made in relation to the incident.
