Authorities from the 110th Precinct in Elmhurst were notified of the collision via a 911 call, which reported a motor vehicle accident at the intersection of the Whitestone Expressway and the Grand Central Parkway in Corona, Queens. The emergency call was received shortly before 5 p.m. on October 7, prompting a swift response from the New York Emergency Medical Services (EMS).
