Devin Frink Obituary, Death; – The Maryland State Police have identified the individual who perished in a tragic triple-fatality accident on the Beltway, which also claimed the lives of two nine-year-old girls.
Devin Frink, aged 36, from Baltimore, was operating a Jeep Wrangler that crashed and subsequently ignited on the evening of April 5, according to a statement from state police on Wednesday. Authorities reported that a trooper attempted to stop the Jeep at approximately 11:05 p.m., but the driver fled the scene. Shortly thereafter, the trooper discovered the vehicle engulfed in flames in the grass adjacent to the exit ramp from the Beltway to southbound Interstate 83.
Investigators believe that the driver lost control, colliding with an embankment and a tree, which led to the vehicle catching fire. It has been confirmed that Frink was the uncle of one of the deceased girls. Due to state regulations, police are unable to disclose the identities of the girls. However, family members later informed 11 News that the girls were Bailee Brooks and her friend, Serenity Gross.
The family indicated that the girls were at a go-kart track with a ‘trusted relative’ who was driving them. Authorities clarified that the trooper did not engage in a pursuit of the vehicle. The family has requested access to the trooper’s dashcam footage. In a statement released in April, police indicated that the investigation into the crash is ongoing but did not confirm whether the dashcam footage would be made public.
The statement included a commitment to accuracy and transparency, assuring that further information would be provided as it becomes available during the investigation.
