Dennis Vietmier Obituary, Death; – The 75-year-old individual who was fatally shot by his son on July 6 in Tallmadge has been identified by law enforcement as Dennis Vietmier.
Police were initially dispatched at 11:13 a.m. following a report of a shooting occurring on the 500 block of Cynthia Lane. The caller, Ryan Vietmier, aged 43 and the son of Dennis, reported that he had just shot his father, who was not breathing. Dennis, who suffered a gunshot wound to the torso, was taken to Summa Health and was pronounced dead at 11:45 a.m., as stated by the Summit County Medical Examiner’s Office.
Officers responding to the scene located Ryan on Cynthia Lane, where he was apprehended without incident. He faces charges of murder and domestic violence, and was arraigned on July 7 at Stow Municipal Court, as confirmed by Tallmadge police.
Currently, he is being held at the Summit County Jail.
