Demetrius Williams Obituary, Death; Coroner releases identity of man killed in Lancaster shooting Monday morning

Demetrius Williams Obituary, Death; – On Tuesday, the Lancaster County Coroner’s Office identified the victim of the fatal shooting that occurred on Monday in the 400 block of North Mulberry Street within the city. Demetrius Williams, aged 24, was declared deceased at Penn Medicine Lancaster General Hospital at 10:47 a.m. on Monday, as reported by Lancaster County Coroner Dr. Stephen Diamantoni.

The determination of his cause and manner of death is pending the outcome of an autopsy, which is scheduled for Wednesday, according to Diamantoni. Williams was shot in his residence shortly after 10 a.m. on Monday, as stated by Lancaster Police. A suspect, identified as 25-year-old David Pearce, was apprehended on Monday afternoon, according to police reports.

Authorities indicated that Pearce and Williams were acquainted. The 400 block of Mulberry Street was closed for several hours while law enforcement secured the crime scene and interviewed witnesses. The investigation into the case remains ongoing.
