DeMarion Tashawn Daniels Obituary, Death; – Homecoming weekend at Albany State University took a tragic turn on Saturday when gunfire erupted, resulting in one fatality and four injuries, as reported by the Georgia Bureau of Investigation on Sunday.
The incident occurred at approximately 8:45 p.m. in a densely populated area close to a campus concert during the homecoming celebrations, according to the GBI.
Authorities have identified the deceased as 19-year-old De’Marion Tashawn Daniels from Newnan, who was not enrolled at ASU. A 20-year-old woman sustained a graze wound, while a 13-year-old girl from Albany, along with two high school students aged 17 and 16, were also injured by gunfire.
In response to the shooting, ASU implemented a lockdown as law enforcement searched for suspects. To date, no arrests have been made, and the GBI has not disclosed any potential suspects.
