Debra Villasenor,Keondre Alejandre Obituary, Death; = On Monday, authorities publicly named four individuals who tragically lost their lives in traffic accidents in the San Diego area over the past ten days.
The latest roadway fatality occurred at 11:15 p.m. on Friday, when a vehicle struck Keondre Alejandre, 32, as he was crossing the intersection of Camino Del Rio West and Hancock Street in the Midway district, as reported by the county Medical Examiner’s Office.
Paramedics transported Alejandre to UCSD Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead early the following morning, according to the agency’s report.
Shortly after noon last Wednesday, 66-year-old Debra Villasenor from Alpine suffered fatal injuries when the SUV she was operating veered off a freeway exit from eastbound state Route 52 to Mast Boulevard in San Carlos and collided with a light pole, as stated by the medical examiner and the California Highway Patrol. Villasenor succumbed to her injuries at the scene of the accident.
Last Monday, a traffic incident resulted in the death of a pedestrian in his hometown of Oceanside, as reported by the medical examiner. An SUV struck Cesar Contreras, 59, at the intersection of Francesca Drive and Mission Avenue around 6:45 p.m. on October 10, resulting in his death at the scene, according to the county agency.
On November 7, a 65-year-old man lost his life in a solo car accident on Interstate 5 in Sorrento Valley. John Lim of San Diego had just entered the northbound lane of the freeway from Genesee Avenue shortly after 10 a.m. when the Hyundai Sonata he was driving veered across the roadway and collided with a center-divider barrier at high speed.
The vehicle then crossed back over and struck a freeway sign and a guardrail on the east side of the Sorrento Valley Road offramp, as stated by CHP public-affairs Officer Michael Wessendorf. Lim became trapped in the vehicle and died before medics could transport him to a hospital. The medical examiner has classified the cause of death as natural, due to heart failure.
