David Yanez Jr Obituary, Death; – The motorcyclist killed attempting to overtake a pickup truck on an unregistered motorcycle has been identified.
On Wednesday, the Medical Examiner’s office identified the motorcyclist as 34-year-old David Yanez Jr, who died as a result of his injuries. His death has been ruled an accident. Around 8:25 p.m. on Aug. 9, police were called to the scene of a motorcycle accident near the corner of SW 36th Street and Marbauch Avenue.
When police arrived, they found Yanez unresponsive after a collision involving a pickup truck and the unregistered motorcycle. A 17-year-old girl, who had been a passenger on the motorcycle, had been taken to University Hospital for non-life-threatening injuries.
Police say the motorcyclist was riding along Marbauch when he attempted to overtake a truck and collided with an F-150. No criminal charges have been filed in connection with the collision.
