David Gray Obituary, Death; – A teenage boy is wanted after being accused of shooting and killing his stepfather in Newton County, according to the sheriff’s office.

Deputies responded to the shooting in the area of Avery Drive in Covington around 6:15 p.m. Tuesday. When they arrived, they found the victim, later identified as 41-year-old David Gray of Covington, dead inside his home.

As the investigation went on, the sheriff’s office said they believe Gay was shot by his stepson, 16-year-old Jayden Daniel of Covington. The sheriff’s office says he left the scene in a 2016 Cadillac Escalade that belonged to Gay. It was later found by investigators at Denny Dobbs Park, but the teenager was not in the area.

Daniel is considered “armed and dangerous” by the sheriff’s office. Anyone with information about the teenager’s whereabouts is urged to call 911 immediately and to not approach him. The sheriff’s office did not give a description of the suspect and has not released of photo of him yet. They also did not say what led up to the shooting.
