David Foote Obituary, Death; – Toronto police have confirmed the identity of the man who was killed in what appears to be a murder-suicide incident in Scarborough on Wednesday.
Authorities responded to a semi-detached residence located on Chelwood Road, in proximity to Birchmount Road and Eglinton Avenue East, following a request from concerned family members of two male occupants to check on their well-being.
Upon arrival, officers discovered the men exhibiting clear signs of trauma. They were later declared deceased.
On Friday, homicide detectives identified one of the deceased as 62-year-old David Foote from Toronto, marking him as the city’s 18th homicide victim.
The other individual, aged 67, is suspected to have been the perpetrator of Foote’s death, according to police reports.
His name has not been disclosed.
The specific cause of their deaths remains undetermined. Investigators have also refrained from sharing information regarding the circumstances that led to this tragic event.
Lillian Lewis, a neighbor, informed CTV News Toronto on Thursday that the two men were siblings.
She recounted that she received a call from the brothers’ worried sister on Wednesday afternoon.
“She mentioned that she was trying to reach them but was unable to get a response, so I went over and knocked on the door – there was no answer – and I relayed this to her,” Lewis stated.
“I was utterly shocked when the police arrived and informed me that they had passed away. I am profoundly shocked.
