David Bahrami Obituary, Death; – Authorities have identified a man who was shot and killed by Antioch police last week after he allegedly approached officers with a knife.
The Contra Costa County Sheriff’s Office confirmed that the individual was 26-year-old David Bahrami, a resident of Antioch.

The fatal shooting occurred on June 30 at approximately 7:15 a.m. in the 3800 block of Osprey Lane. Police reported that they responded to a call regarding an individual threatening to “kill everyone in the home” while armed with a knife.

The Contra Costa County Sheriff’s Office confirmed that the individual was 26-year-old David Bahrami, a resident of Antioch.

Authorities have not disclosed the identity of the officer who discharged his weapon, nor have they made any body camera footage available. In accordance with protocol, that officer has been placed on paid administrative leave while investigations are conducted by the sheriff’s office and the Contra Costa County District Attorney’s Office.

According to police, upon their arrival, Bahrami charged at them with a knife, prompting one officer to fire his weapon. Police have not disclosed the number of shots fired by that officer.
