Darcy Rabbitskin Obituary, Death; – Prince Albert police have confirmed the identity of a body found nearly three weeks ago. The remains, discovered in the 400 block of 19th Street East on October 16, have been identified as 41-year-old Darcy Rabbitskin.
To assist in the identification process, the police enlisted the expertise of a forensic anthropologist and a forensic pathologist. Rabbitskin was reported missing on October 22, five days after the public was informed about the discovery of the body. His family last saw him in July. According to a news release, police had “interacted” with Rabbitskin on July 16, during which he was described as wearing a purple and blue t-shirt, blue jeans, and grey shoes, and having long dark hair.
The Prince Albert Criminal Investigations Division is continuing to investigate the circumstances surrounding Darcy Rabbitskin’s death. Initially, police faced challenges in identifying the remains. Following an autopsy conducted on October 22, the only information released was that the remains belonged to a male.
CTV News reached out to the Prince Albert police for further insights into the difficulties faced by investigators in identifying the body. However, Police Chief Patrick Nogier emphasized the importance of not compromising the investigative process through public disclosures.
“Given the uncertainty and unknown circumstances surrounding the actual death, we are hesitant to provide additional details about the final resting position of the body at this time,” Nogier stated in an email. Authorities are urging anyone with information regarding Rabbitskin’s death or his last known whereabouts in Prince Albert to contact the police.
