Daniel Diaz,Aben Sisk Obituary, Death; – State troopers are conducting an investigation into a crash that occurred on April 22, resulting in the deaths of three students from Dorman High School.
Spartanburg County Coroner Rusty Clevenger has identified the deceased as 15-year-old Daniel Diaz, 16-year-old Aben Sisk, and 17-year-old Itzel Garcia-Trejo, all residents of Spartanburg. Diaz and Sisk were pronounced dead at the scene, while Garcia-Trejo succumbed to her injuries at Spartanburg Medical Center.
Clevenger expressed his condolences, stating, ‘This is a significant loss of life, and I urge everyone to keep the families and friends of the deceased in their thoughts and prayers during this difficult time.’ The incident took place around 4 p.m. at the intersection of Old Blackstock Road and Fairforest Clevedale Road, near the Fairforest Post Office.
According to the South Carolina Highway Patrol, a 2021 Freightliner tractor-trailer made a left turn from Fairforest Clevedale Road onto Old Blackstock Road, leading to a collision with two vehicles — a 2010 Chevrolet coupe and a 2004 Dodge pickup truck — that were traveling west on Old Blackstock Road. The three students were occupants of the pickup truck, while the driver of the Chevrolet was transported to the hospital for medical attention.
