Cynthia Ferk,Floyd Maxson Obituary, Death; – Officials have confirmed the identities of the two individuals who lost their lives following a collision between their boat and a break wall on Wednesday in New Haven Harbor.
The Department of Energy and Environmental Protection (DEEP) has identified the deceased boaters as Cynthia Ferk, 64, and Floyd Maxson, 67, both residents of Stratford.
The state police’s dive team discovered the pair unresponsive, and they were subsequently pronounced dead by the Connecticut Office of the Chief Medical Examiner.
Preliminary investigations revealed that Ferk and Maxson were last seen dining at a restaurant in New Haven prior to the tragic incident. They were reported missing to the Coast Guard after not returning from their boat excursion between Stratford and Norwalk.
On Friday morning, the boat involved in the incident was recovered, showing noticeable damage to the front hull.
The Environmental Conservation Police are continuing to investigate the crash.
“We extend our condolences to the families and loved ones of the victims during this difficult time and remain committed to a thorough investigation,” stated a DEEP official.
