Crystal Marschel Obituary, Death; – Two teachers have been found dead in a suspected murder-suicide leaving two young children without a mum.
Crystal Marschel, 32, from Minnesota, was shot dead by her boyfriend John Gans, 34, on July 18, believes Morrison County Sheriff’s Office. Police say that he then turned the gun on himself with the couple found dead with a gun also recovered from the scene.
Officers had gone to a house for a welfare check after Ms Marschel missed a court appearance over a driving while impaired charge. Gans, a former St John’s University football player, who is understood to have been going through a divorce, was also due in court for a hearing on July 18 but never appeared.
Midwest Medical Examiner’s Office said that Ms Marschel died from a gunshot wound to the head and Gans death was ruled as suicide.
A GoFundMe page has been set up for Ms Marschel’s family after the tragedy which has left her two children without their mum. It states: “We are heartbroken to share the devastating loss of Crystal, a loving young mother whose life was tragically cut short due to domestic violence.
Her sudden passing has left an unfillable void in the lives of everyone who knew her — especially her two beautiful children, ages 3 and 5 and their Dad, Austen.”
It continues: “Crystal was a warm, vibrant soul. She loved fiercely, laughed freely, and put her children at the center of her world. She dreamed of watching them grow, learn, and thrive. That dream has been stolen, and now Austen is left to pick up the pieces, grieving while stepping into the role of a single parent.
