Courtenay Pierre Dufermeau Obituary, Death; – An investigation is currently in progress following the fatal shooting of a man in Bessemer.
The victim has been identified by the Jefferson County Coroner’s Office as Courtenay Pierre Dufermeau, a 42-year-old resident of Bessemer.
Officers were dispatched at 8:20 p.m. on Monday in response to reports of gunfire in the 300 block of Gloria Drive.
Upon their arrival, they discovered a vehicle positioned diagonally in the street. Detective Justin Burmeister reported that Dufermeau was found slumped over and had suffered at least one gunshot wound. He was declared dead at the scene.
No arrests have been made thus far.
Burmeister indicated that the motive behind the shooting is still being investigated, and detectives are actively following all leads.
