Cornelius McDonald Obituary, Death; DMV leader identified as man killed in shooting outside a restaurant in Largo

Cornelius McDonald Obituary, Death; – The Prince George’s County Police Department (PGPD) has confirmed the identity of the individual who was fatally shot outside a restaurant in Largo during the early hours of Saturday.

At approximately 12:45 a.m., officers responded to a report at Jasper’s Restaurant, located at 9640 Lottsford Rd, where they discovered a man who had been shot. He succumbed to his injuries at the scene. The deceased has been identified as 33-year-old Cornelius McDonald, a resident of Upper Marlboro.

Authorities are actively working to locate and apprehend the suspect who fled the scene following the incident. Investigators are also looking into the possibility of an altercation between the suspect and the victim prior to the shooting. Prince George’s County Council Member Wala Blegay issued a statement regarding the shooting of Cornelius McDonald, who was recognized as a Community Leader in the DMV area.

The tragic event outside Jasper’s Restaurant in Largo has profoundly impacted our community. We have lost a cherished leader, Cornelius Neal McDonald, a long-standing member of our community who graduated from Largo High School and whose commitment to uplifting others has created a lasting impact. My condolences extend to his family, friends, the Largo High School community, and all those grieving this senseless act of violence.

I have been in communication with law enforcement, and they have assured me that their investigation is progressing effectively. I appreciate their commitment to seeking justice for Neal and ensuring accountability.
