Constable Keith Anthony Smith Obituary, Death; – A Tasmanian police officer who tragically lost his life in the line of duty has been recognized as a 25-year veteran of the police force.
Constable Keith Anthony Smith, aged 57, was fatally shot at a rural property in North Motton yesterday while he was present at the scene with another officer to execute a court-ordered warrant for the repossession of the residence.
Commissioner Donna Adams remarked that the officer had a “distinguished career” with
Tasmania Police and was held in high esteem by his peers.
“Keith was a respected and dedicated officer, and his absence will be profoundly felt throughout our policing family and the broader community,” Adams stated.
“My heartfelt condolences go out to Keith’s wife and family. We will provide them with support in every possible way during this exceptionally challenging time.
“The Blue Family will unite today, and in the coming days and weeks, to support the family and one another.
