Connie Monroe,Blake Penix Obituary, Death; – Two individuals who lost their lives on Wednesday in a six-vehicle accident on Interstate 95 in Dillon County have been named by Dillon County Coroner Donnie Grimsley.
Connie Monroe, aged 68, from Fayetteville, North Carolina, was pronounced dead at the scene. She was operating a 2017 Honda CRV, as reported by Grimsley. Blake Penix, a 31-year-old from Virginia, also perished in the incident. He was driving a 2010 Honda Accord, according to the coroner’s statement.
The accident occurred around 6:50 a.m., approximately one-tenth of a mile north of Dillon. A 2020 Volvo tractor-trailer, traveling southbound, collided with the Honda CRV, which was halted in traffic, as indicated by the South Carolina Highway Patrol.
This impact initiated a chain-reaction crash involving four additional vehicles that were also stationary in traffic, including the Honda Accord. As a result of the accident, lanes of Interstate 95 remained closed until early afternoon on Wednesday.
