Colin Sutton Obituary, Death; – A man succumbed to injuries sustained in a collision that occurred a few weeks ago in Virginia Beach. On November 14 at approximately 3:40 p.m., law enforcement officials were dispatched to the 5000 block of Indian River Road to investigate an incident involving a bicyclist.
Initial findings from the investigation revealed that the bicyclist, identified as 49-year-old Colin Sutton from Virginia Beach, left the sidewalk to cross Indian River Road without yielding to approaching vehicles and was struck by a car during the crossing, as stated in a police release. Sutton was transported to a nearby hospital, where he later passed away, according to police reports. The driver of the vehicle sustained minor injuries and was also taken to the hospital.
Authorities do not expect to file any charges, and the investigation into the incident remains ongoing. Virginia Beach Police Department Chief Paul Neudigate urged both pedestrians and cyclists to “exercise careful attention to traffic signals, utilize designated crosswalks, and maintain heightened caution when crossing roadways.”
