Claudia Bacon Obituary, Death; – A 12-year-old girl was admitted to the hospital this weekend after a section of a tree fell on her during a town arts and crafts festival in Georgia, as reported by the Paulding County Sheriff’s Office.
Authorities stated that 12-year-old Claudia Bacon sustained serious injuries when the tree, along with branches from another tree, collapsed on her Sunday at the Paulding Meadows Arts and Crafts Festival following the midday storms. Deputies and firefighters responded promptly to assist within seconds of the girl’s injury, according to the sheriff’s office.
“We understand that there is a lot of information circulating on social media, and we want to ensure that everyone is aware of the most accurate details,” the sheriff’s office mentioned in a Facebook post.
A family friend reported that Claudia has suffered a fractured skull, a bruised lung, and a broken rib. Her family shared on GoFundMe that she has already received a blood transfusion and that doctors are currently addressing her skull fracture and other injuries.
“Our primary prayer at this time is for her to begin moving the left side of her body. She has been able to squeeze her mother’s hand on command, respond to questions with a slight nod of her head, and wiggle her toes. At one point, she managed to give a thumbs up! This is significant progress,” Julie Stewart informed Atlanta News First. “The doctors are indicating that she is recovering more rapidly than is usual for other children with similar injuries. Miracles are occurring!”
According to her family, Claudia is an honor student with straight “A” grades, a member of the chorus, and is recognized for her cheerful and humorous personality.
