Christopher Perez Obituary, Death; – The individual who was shot and killed in Cutler Park over the weekend has been identified by the Tulare County Sheriff’s Office, which has also named the suspects involved in the incident.
Deputies were dispatched to Ledbetter Park, located in the 12000 block of Avenue 408 in Cutler, following reports of a shooting on Sunday shortly before 5:30 p.m.
Upon their arrival, sheriff’s officials discovered a man who had sustained gunshot wounds. The victim was identified as Christopher Perez. Despite efforts to save his life, Perez was pronounced dead at the scene.
On Wednesday, deputies reported that they had identified a 15-year-old male and 19-year-old Christopher Talingo, both residents of Cutler, as the suspects in the fatal shooting, as well as in the attempted homicide of a 14-year-old boy who was present with Perez that evening.
Detectives indicated that on Wednesday at approximately 9 a.m., they attempted to reach the 15-year-old suspect at his residence; however, he fled the scene. Following a brief pursuit, the teenager was apprehended without further incident.
Later that afternoon, the sheriff’s SWAT team successfully took Talingo into custody at his home without any complications. Both suspects have been charged with homicide, attempted homicide, and conspiracy.
