Christopher Cramp,David Cramp Obituary, Death; – The three family members who tragically lost their lives after being struck by an Amtrak train in Bristol, Bucks County, have been named.

According to the Bucks County coroner, the deceased are 56-year-old Christopher Cramp, 31-year-old David Cramp, and 24-year-old Thomas Cramp. While the deaths of Christopher and David have been classified as accidental, the coroner has determined that Thomas’ death was a suicide.

Bristol Borough Police Chief Joseph Moors reported that officers responded to the scene around 6 p.m. on Thursday after receiving reports of individuals on the tracks at the intersection of Beaver and Prospect streets near the Bristol Station. Although three individuals were quickly located, they were subsequently struck by Amtrak Northeast Regional Train 85, which was traveling to Philadelphia’s 30th Street Station, as confirmed by officials. All three were pronounced dead at the scene. “This is an absolute tragedy. We have three victims involved in this incident,” stated Moors. Officials noted that the family was well-known and highly regarded within the community.

Amtrak reported that there were 236 passengers and crew members aboard the train, which had departed from Boston and was headed to Richmond, Virginia. Fortunately, no injuries were reported among those on the train.

Shauna Hailey, a passenger returning to Center City, recounted, “Suddenly, the train came to a jarring halt, and it was clear something was amiss.” Hailey commended the train crew for their prompt response and observed as detectives conducted their investigation, as seen from Chopper 6.

“I think everyone on the train is just in shock that this actually occurred. You hear about such incidents, but you never expect to be on the train when it happens,” Hailey remarked. Her primary concern lies with the families affected, whose lives will be irrevocably altered.

“This is an incredibly difficult situation. I feel deep sympathy for the families involved and for the Amtrak employees… I sincerely hope that the engineer, who was operating the train, receives all the support they may require,” she added. Service on Amtrak and SEPTA’s Trenton Line was halted for several hours before trains resumed operations late Thursday night. Amtrak police are leading the investigation.
