Chette Williams Obituary, Death; – A man who perished in a house fire in Birmingham last week was identified on Monday morning. Chette Williams, the Auburn Team Chaplain, has died in a drowning incident at Lake Martin. Marion Leroy Springer, aged 74, was one of two individuals discovered within a residence on the 5400 block of 5th Court South during the evening of December 12. He was transported to UAB Hospital for medical care, where he succumbed to his injuries on December 13 at approximately 8:13 p.m., as reported by the Jefferson County Coroner’s Office. Currently, the Birmingham Fire Marshal’s Office is conducting an investigation into the cause of the fire.
