Charlie CJ Fairley Obituary, Death; – A high school basketball player from Mississippi was reportedly shot and killed following an altercation with a 14-year-old, as stated by law enforcement officials.
Authorities responded to the scene on Robindale Road after receiving reports of gunfire. Upon their arrival, they discovered a 16-year-old, later identified as Charlie “CJ” Fairley, lying in the street with a gunshot wound to his abdomen, according to WLOX.
He was subsequently airlifted to a medical facility, where he succumbed to his injuries. Investigators disclosed that Fairley was shot after engaging in a fistfight with the alleged assailant. Family and friends described Fairley as a person with an uplifting spirit and a gifted basketball player.
“He had a smile that could brighten any room. This is a difficult loss,” remarked Coach Javoris. “CJ was always supportive and a true friend. We miss him dearly and wish he were still with us,” expressed one of CJ’s friends.
The 14-year-old suspect has been apprehended and charged with second-degree murder, and is currently being held on a bond of $1,000,000.
