Community response
Neighbor John Sherikjian mentioned that he had just moved in a few weeks prior.
“It’s quite shocking to have this occur right across the street, especially since I just moved in,” he remarked.
Sherikjian recounted returning home on Thursday night to find nearly a dozen police vehicles blocking his street.
“I arrived around 10 p.m., and the area was completely surrounded. I had to be escorted from my car and had to park further away,” he explained.
Next-door neighbor Tony Vithayathil stated that a couple resided in the home with a child who was approximately four years old, noting that he often heard noises coming from the residence.
“There were arguments and similar disturbances,” Vithayathil said, but he clarified that he never heard any gunfire.
“I learned that she wasn’t coming to work, so they called and texted her but received no response. Then someone came over and knocked on the door, but there was still no answer. Eventually, they called the police,” Vithayathil added.
