Chalino Tellez Cortez Obituary, Death; – Oregon State Police have released the identity of the motorcyclist who tragically lost his life in a collision on I-5 in Central Point on Friday morning.
As reported by OSP, 19-year-old Chalino Tellez Cortez from Phoenix was riding a Suzuki GSX-R1000 and was traveling northbound at a high speed shortly before 11 a.m. A deputy from the Jackson County Sheriff’s Office noticed the motorcyclist and attempted to conduct a traffic stop; however, Tellez Cortez failed to comply.
Subsequently, the motorcycle collided with the trailer of a semi-truck. Tellez Cortez was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the semi-truck sustained no injuries. The incident caused disruptions on the freeway for approximately two hours.
