Cecil Deloney Obituary, Death; – A man has been apprehended following the death of another individual due to a stabbing incident that occurred on August 19 in Fresno.
According to the Fresno Police Department, officers were dispatched just prior to 4 p.m. to the intersection of Orchard Avenue and Grant Avenue after receiving reports of a man lying in the street.
Upon their arrival, officers discovered 31-year-old Cecil Deloney unresponsive, suffering from a stab wound to his upper body.
Numerous witnesses indicated that they observed several men pursuing Deloney before attacking him at the intersection, with one of the assailants fatally stabbing him. Investigators have also indicated that evidence suggests Deloney was homeless.
Homicide detectives have identified 36-year-old Chong Lee as the individual responsible for the murder. On August 22, Lee was arrested and subsequently booked into Fresno County Jail, where he was officially charged with murder on Tuesday, August 26, 2025. The investigation remains ongoing.
