According to police, Carmen Suero Jr., from Drexel Hill, Pennsylvania, was shot at approximately 5:07 p.m. in the 300 block of North 63rd Street.
Action News has reported that Suero was present for an AA meeting.

Police sources indicate that Suero left his sedan running and unattended, which allowed at least two suspects to enter the vehicle and attempt to steal it. The veteran confronted these suspects.
As per police reports, officers arrived at the scene to discover Suero had been shot in the back. He was transported to Penn-Presbyterian Medical Center, where he was declared dead at 5:24 p.m.
On Monday evening, police announced the apprehension of Nasir Brogdon and Nysiir Peoples, both aged 19.
Authorities state that the men are each facing charges of murder, robbery, theft, receiving stolen property, among other charges.
“We haven’t processed this yet,” stated a relative of the victim, Karen Santone. “We haven’t even begun to grieve.”
Family members report that Suero battled addiction for a significant portion of his life. However, the veteran had maintained sobriety for the last twenty years.
“His focus was on meetings, and he attended them everywhere. He spoke, chaired, and led them. That was his life,” Santone remarked.
They emphasize that he was dedicated to his sobriety and to assisting others.
“He was deeply spiritual. I believe he remembered his past and sought to help those who were struggling,” Santone added.
For Suero’s family, the violent nature of his murder will be a challenging burden to bear. They describe it as a tragedy on multiple levels.
“It breaks my heart. Not only for my brother-in-law, but also for the two young lives that may never see the light of day,” Santone expressed. “We must do better for our children.”
