Carl A Hall,Emily R Ouellette Obituary, Death; – The Kennebec County Sheriff’s Office has identified the victims of the fatal vehicle accident on Main Street that occurred on April 21 as a man from Mount Vernon and a woman from Auburn.
The driver, Carl A. Hall, 25, from Mount Vernon, and the passenger, Emily R. Ouellette, 28, from Auburn, tragically lost their lives when their Ford Flex SUV veered off the road, struck a tree, and ignited in flames. The incident took place at 12:52 a.m. at 1084 Main St. The investigation into the crash is ongoing, with authorities suspecting that excessive speed contributed to the incident, as a Maine State Police trooper had observed the vehicle traveling at over 70 mph on North Road earlier that evening.
Although the trooper was unable to locate the vehicle at that time, he continued to patrol the area until discovering the crash site on Main Street, according to Chris Read, chief deputy of the Sheriff’s Office. Emergency responders from the Readfield fire department and rescue teams attended to the scene. Deputy Jacob Poulin is leading the ongoing investigation.
