Cailee Campbell Obituary, Death; – The Oswego County Sheriff’s Office has announced the identity of the deputy who tragically lost her life in a collision while responding to a call on Wednesday morning. Cailee Campbell, aged 33, passed away while attending to another service request related to a motor vehicle accident.
Her patrol vehicle was involved in a two-car collision that occurred shortly before 6:45 a.m. at the intersection of County Route 176 and Rowlee Road in Volney, Oswego County, as stated in a news release from the Oswego County Sheriff’s Office. Following the incident, Campbell was transported to Oswego Hospital, where she was pronounced deceased, according to the sheriff’s office.
The other driver involved in the crash was taken to Upstate Hospital with injuries that were deemed non-life-threatening. Campbell had been employed by the Oswego County Sheriff’s Office for 17 months, having started in April 2023, as reported by deputies. The investigation into the crash is ongoing.
