Cade Gwynn Obituary, Death; 23-year-old motorcyclist killed after crashing into car that failed to yield in Erie County: OSHP

Cade Gwynn Obituary, Death; – Two men, both aged 23, were involved in a car and motorcycle collision in Erie County, resulting in the death of one individual.

The Ohio State Highway Patrol is currently looking into the deadly incident that occurred on US-6 near OH-61 in Berlin Township at around 8:58 p.m. on August 31.

The deceased has been identified by the OSHP as 23-year-old Cade Gwynn from Huron.

According to OSHP, Gwynn was operating a 2018 Kawasaki Ninja motorcycle traveling west on US-6.

OSHP reported that a 23-year-old man from Elyria was driving a 2014 Chevrolet Malibu eastbound on US-6.

The Malibu did not yield while making a left turn into a private driveway, as stated by OSHP.

This maneuver led to Gwynn colliding with the side of the Malibu, which resulted in him being thrown from the motorcycle, according to OSHP.

He was not wearing a helmet and was pronounced dead at the scene, as confirmed by OSHP.

OSHP noted that the driver of the Malibu was wearing a seat belt and did not sustain any injuries.

According to OSHP, there is no indication that alcohol or drugs played a role in this incident.

The Erie County Sheriff’s Office assisted OSHP at the scene.

At this point in the ongoing investigation, no charges have been filed, as confirmed by OSHP.
