Bryson Jenks Obituary,  – A 45-year-old man from Ogdensburg has been sentenced to prison for the fatal stabbing of a teenager in the city last year. Kenneth Durham received a sentence of 17 years to life in St. Lawrence County Court on Tuesday.

In June, he entered a guilty plea to a charge of second-degree murder. The incident occurred on August 10, 2023, when Durham stabbed 19-year-old Bryson Jenks in the chest during a dispute in the 400 block of Paterson Street. Jenks succumbed to his injuries shortly thereafter. Following the attack, Durham fled the scene, reportedly removing a GPS tracking device that he was mandated to wear while on parole.

He was apprehended approximately two hours later. County District Attorney Gary Pasqua stated, “Hopefully the defendant’s sentence will bring some small amount of closure to Mr. Jenks’s family. Mr. Jenks’s tragic death was unnecessary and avoidable.” Durham’s sentence will be served consecutively to any time he owes to the Department of Corrections due to his parole status at the time of the crime.
