Bryan Granillo Arrested; – A man is facing multiple charges after allegedly fleeing the scene of a crash he caused early Sunday morning.
According to the Colorado State Patrol (CSP), a black 2011 Toyota Camry collided with the rear of a Patrol vehicle at 1:56 a.m., resulting in the Patrol vehicle pinning a contractor from the Colorado Department of Transportation (CDOT).
CSP reported that the vehicles were situated in the left lane of eastbound Highway 36 near Pecos Street, actively managing traffic for a previous crash.
Following the collision, CSP stated that the Camry continued to travel eastbound on Highway 36. A second trooper reportedly executed a Tactical Vehicle Intervention (TVI) to safely bring the suspect vehicle to a stop.
The driver, identified as 28-year-old Bryan Granillo, was apprehended at the scene and subsequently transported to the Adams County Sheriff’s Detention Facility.
He faces charges of driving under the influence, felony eluding, and failure to remain at the scene of a crash.
Both the trooper and the highway worker involved were taken to the hospital, where they were evaluated for injuries and later released, according to CSP.
This investigation remains ongoing.
