Brandon Oman,Stevie Oman Obituary, Death; – The two victims and the suspect, who was critically injured, from a deadly incident in Glenwood, were identified by Iowa officials.
The Iowa Division of Criminal Investigation said law enforcement responded to a residence around 7:30 p.m. and found the home on fire and two victims with gunshot wounds outside the residence.
According to Iowa officials, it started as a shooting, and during the incident, there was an explosion inside the residence near 4th and Grove streets. The explosion resulted in a large fire.
Officials said 38-year-old Brandon Oman died at the scene, and his wife, identified as 35-year-old Stevie Oman, was transported to the University of Nebraska Medical Center, where she later died from her injuries.
Investigators said 71-year-old Dennis Burnell was taken into custody for the Omans’ deaths as he exited his burning home. He was critically injured during the incident and was taken to a medical facility for treatment.
The Iowa Division of Criminal Investigation said preliminary investigation shows the shooting stemmed from an “interpersonal dispute between the parties.” According to property records, the victims lived across the street from Burnell. The incident is still under investigation.
