Blaze M Lachappelle Obituary, Death; – A driver from Youngsville was declared dead following a single-vehicle accident in Lafayette.
Earlier today, at approximately 2 a.m., the Lafayette Police Department was called to the 200 block of Southpark Road to respond to a single-vehicle incident.
According to officials, the investigation revealed that the vehicle was heading westbound when, for reasons yet to be determined, the driver veered off the north side of the road, collided with a culvert, crossed over American Boulevard, and struck a tree. The vehicle subsequently became engulfed in flames.
Authorities reported that the Lafayette Fire Department extracted the driver from the vehicle, and he was transported to a local hospital, where he was later pronounced dead.
The deceased has been identified as Blaze M. Lachappelle, 24, from Youngsville.
The Lafayette Police Department Traffic Unit is continuing to investigate the crash.
