Benjamin Samad Obituary, Death; – A pedestrian lost his life in a hit-and-run incident in Lake Worth, close to Palm Beach State College, on Wednesday evening. Authorities have indicated that a potential suspect has been identified. According to the Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office (PBSO), at approximately 6:30 p.m., a Ford F-250 was traveling northbound near 4300 Congress Avenue, adjacent to Palm Beach State College.
Simultaneously, 43-year-old Benjamin Samad was attempting to cross Congress Avenue when he reportedly entered the path of the truck. The Ford collided with Samad, who subsequently came to rest in the outer lane of Congress Avenue.
PBSO reported that the Ford fled the scene, traversing the Palm Beach State College campus before heading eastbound on Lake Worth Road. A witness pursued the vehicle and captured video footage of the truck as it departed.
Regrettably, Palm Beach County Fire Rescue declared Samad deceased at the crash site. However, deputies later located the suspect vehicle parked at an apartment complex in Lake Worth and have identified a possible suspect. The investigation by PBSO is still ongoing.
