Benjamin Olson Obituary, Death; – The McHenry County Coroner’s Office has identified a man who lost his life in a motorcycle accident in the Hebron area last week.
Benjamin Olson, aged 44, from Crystal Lake, was the individual who died in the motorcycle crash near Hebron on June 11, as announced by the office in a news release on Monday. An autopsy was conducted on Friday, and preliminary findings suggest that Olson’s cause of death was due to blunt force injuries.
Toxicology results are still pending, as stated in the release; however, authorities suspect that alcohol played a role in the accident and previously mentioned that Olson was not wearing a helmet at the time. The drivers of the other two vehicles involved, as well as a passenger in one of those vehicles, were reported to be uninjured, according to the McHenry County Sheriff’s Office last week.
The sheriff’s office reported last week that an initial investigation revealed the motorcycle was traveling south on Route 47 when it collided head-on with a Ford Explorer heading north after crossing the center line. Subsequently, the motorcycle struck a trailer being towed by a Chevrolet pickup truck, as per the sheriff’s office.
The coroner’s office indicated that it is continuing to collaborate with the sheriff’s office and the Hebron-Alden-Greenwood Fire Protection District throughout the investigation.
