Barry Walker Obituary, Death; – Atlanta law enforcement is actively seeking a driver and another individual believed to be associated with the death of a man whose remains were discovered on the Downtown Connector over the weekend.
Authorities are offering a reward of up to $5,000 for any information that could assist them in identifying the person responsible for the murder of Barry Walker. Investigators report that they were summoned on Sunday night to Interstate 75/85 southbound near Andrew Young Boulevard SE following notifications of a body lying in the roadway.
A significant number of police officers responded to the location, resulting in the temporary closure of several lanes on the interstate while the investigation was underway.
Investigators suspect that the incident commenced when Walker and an unidentified individual engaged in an argument that escalated into a physical confrontation on the right shoulder of the highway. At some point, authorities indicate that Walker fell onto the roadway and was struck by a white or light-colored sedan.
According to police, the driver of the sedan stopped briefly after the impact but departed the scene prior to the arrival of law enforcement. The other individual involved in the dispute had also left by the time investigators located Walker.
Days following Walker’s demise, officials report that they have yet to identify the driver or the other individual and are appealing to the public for assistance.
