Barratt A Gorman Obituary, Death; – A 76-year-old swimmer was discovered deceased in Lake Ontario in the town of Oswego on Tuesday night, according to deputies.
Deputies were sent to the shore of Lake Ontario, located west of the SUNY Oswego Campus off Route 89, at approximately 9:31 p.m. following a report of a man in the water, as stated in a news release from the Oswego County Sheriff’s Office.
Around 10:20 p.m., the man was located in the water and was pronounced dead.
The individual was identified as Barratt A. Gorman, aged 76, from Oswego.
According to deputies, Gorman regularly swam in that area. He resided nearby on Route 89.
Gorman had previously been employed by the New York Power Authority, retiring in 2004, as per online state pension records.
