Arya Lebeau Obituary, Death; – Community members are grieving following the tragic death of a 12-year-old girl who fell from a window in Southbridge.

The girl, identified as Arya Lebeau by friends and family through various social media posts and a GoFundMe campaign, has prompted minimal information release from authorities regarding the incident.

An investigation into what is being termed an “unattended death” is being conducted by Southbridge police in conjunction with the Worcester County District Attorney’s Office. According to a spokesperson for the Worcester DA, reports indicate that a juvenile girl fell from a third-story window on Saturday morning. An autopsy will be performed by the Office of the Massachusetts Chief Medical Examiner.
Southbridge police were unavailable for comment on Tuesday, and no charges have been filed.

A woman claiming to be Lebeau’s grandmother shared on Facebook that the girl passed away while at a friend’s residence. An argument, possibly over a piece of pizza, allegedly led to Lebeau falling from the window and sustaining a head injury. The fall may also have been connected to some sort of game, as suggested by the woman, Dimas Cabrera. Lebeau was pronounced dead around 6:20 a.m. on Saturday.

“I cannot express the amount of grief I feel at the loss of my only baby,” wrote Lebeau’s mother, Charlene Cabrera, on the GoFundMe page. “I have no words, but I would like to extend my gratitude to every single person, parent, and child for your outreach and loving support. It is truly heartwarming to witness an entire community uniting to support her. I am confident we will raise sufficient funds to provide my baby girl with a peaceful resting place.”
As of Tuesday morning, the fundraiser had raised over $12,700. Cabrera informed WCVB that the incident occurred during a sleepover, and that her daughter was kicked.

“Charlene has always been an incredible person and an even more remarkable mother. At this moment, she requires all the love and support we can offer,” a friend of Cabrera’s commented on Facebook.
