Armonie Booker,Jaishawn Darell Johnson Obituary, Death; – A shooting incident that occurred on Monday night in a parking lot in northeast Indianapolis resulted in the deaths of a 22-year-old man and a 3-year-old boy.
“I am profoundly frustrated, I am profoundly frustrated,” stated William Young, Public Information Officer for the Indiana Metropolitan Police Department, during a press briefing at the scene. “There is no justification for me to be here discussing the shooting of a child.”
Authorities responded to a report of gunfire around 9:30 p.m. at the Shadeland Station Shopping Center, located near the intersection of East 75th Street and North Shadeland Avenue. Upon arrival, officers discovered the man and the boy with gunshot wounds inside a vehicle.
The man was pronounced dead at the scene, while the boy was transported to Riley’s Children’s Hospital in critical condition, where he ultimately succumbed to his injuries. The Marion County Coroner identified the boy as Armonie Booker and the man as Jaishawn Darell Johnson.
Information regarding the relationship between the two individuals or the circumstances leading to the shooting has not yet been disclosed. The police are treating this incident as a homicide investigation.
