Arick Jordan Jackson Obituary, Death; – Tony Covington, the State’s Attorney for Charles County, declared that on Thursday, September 18, 2025, a jury in Charles County found Jermaine Christopher Stringer, aged 39, guilty of First-Degree Murder in the case of Arick Jordan Jackson, as well as the Use of a Firearm During the Commission of a Crime of Violence, along with related charges.
On September 10, 2021, officers from the Charles County Sheriff’s Office responded to an apartment complex in Waldorf after receiving reports of a gunshot. Upon their arrival, they found the victim deceased in a breezeway. The victim was later identified as Arick Jordan Jackson.
Investigators examined surveillance footage from the complex, which depicted the victim arriving and conversing with a group of individuals shortly before the shooting occurred. The footage also showed the victim engaging with the suspect, later identified as Stringer. Following their interaction, the victim proceeded toward the breezeway, where others had congregated.
Shortly thereafter, Stringer approached the breezeway after returning to the vehicle he had arrived in. The sound of a gun being racked was heard, prompting the victim to attempt to flee. However, Stringer pursued the victim and discharged a single shot, hitting the victim in the upper back and resulting in his death.
After the incident, Stringer escaped the scene with co-defendant Darius Delonte Newman, who was present during the murder and drove Stringer away from the location.
Before the shooting took place, Stringer had left a red plastic cup on the ground in the breezeway, which contained his fingerprints and DNA for identification purposes.
On September 16, 2025, Newman received a sentence of only 3 years and 2 months in prison for Accessory After the Fact – First-Degree Murder due to his involvement in assisting Stringer’s escape.
A sentencing hearing for Stringer has been scheduled for September 26, 2025, at 2:30 p.m., where he faces a potential sentence of Life plus 35 years in prison.
