Apostle L Obituary, Death; – Authorities on Thursday released the identity of the individual who lost his life in a collision in Maplewood involving a domestic assault suspect evading law enforcement.
Apostle L, aged 61, from St. Paul, succumbed to injuries sustained in the incident that occurred on December 13 at the intersection of Edgerton Street and Bellwood Avenue in Maplewood, as reported by the Ramsey County Medical Examiner’s Office. Court documents indicate that he changed his name from Loel Charles in 2018.
Nicholas John Price, a 37-year-old resident of Roseville, has been apprehended and is currently held in custody with a bail set at $500,000. He faces charges of causing a death while fleeing from police and criminal vehicular homicide related to the incident. His next court appearance is scheduled for January 6. At the time of the incident, Price was operating the vehicle despite having his license revoked, according to the state Department of Public Safety.
Additionally, prosecutors filed charges against Price on Monday for threats of violence and domestic assault based on allegations from a former girlfriend. A 29-year-old woman reported to 911 that while at Price’s residence, he threatened to ignite her, choked her, slammed her head against a wall, and pushed her down a flight of stairs.
Around 10:20 p.m., law enforcement in Roseville observed the SUV traveling east on W. County Road B near Dale Street and attempted to stop him by ramming his vehicle; however, Price fled the scene. Sheriff’s deputies joined the pursuit near E. County Road C and Rice Street. The chase concluded at approximately 10:30 p.m. when Price collided with another vehicle at the intersection of Edgerton Street and Bellwood Avenue in Maplewood.
