Aoun Basboos,Ali Naqvi Obituary, Death; Teen suspect charged with murder of two teens identified

Aoun Basboos,Ali Naqvi Obituary, Death;- A teenager linked to the murder of two other teenagers has now been identified and taken into custody at the Fayette County Detention Center.

Jesus Eduardo Reyes Ocampo, who celebrated his 18th birthday on Monday, was admitted to the Fayette County Detention Center. His father, Jesus Reyes Rodriguez, faces charges of evidence tampering.

The arrest date for Reyes-Ocampo is recorded as May 22, coinciding with the day the Lexington Police Department announced the apprehension of a 17-year-old in connection with the death of Ali Naqvi. The 17-year-old had previously been charged with tampering with physical evidence on May 15.

On June 6, the Police revealed that, in collaboration with the FBI, the Fayette County Coroner’s Office, and the Commonwealth’s Attorney’s Office, they established sufficient probable cause to charge the 17-year-old with the murder of Aoun Basboos.

WKYT reached out to the Lexington Police Department at 5 p.m. on Monday to verify whether the charges against Reyes-Ocampo are related to the case. They have not responded to our inquiries. Basboos and Naqvi were last seen on May 11, as they were entering a vehicle associated with a shots-fired incident on Spangler Drive.

Authorities indicate that Basboos has not been found and is presumed dead, while Naqvi was discovered days later on Russell Cave Road in Harrison County. As per the Lexington Police Department, Naqvi succumbed to a gunshot wound. Detectives are actively searching for Aoun Basboos and are urging anyone with information to reach out to the Lexington Police Department at (859) 258-3600.
