Antwon Carmichael Obituary, Death; Four arrested after Orangeburg County teen found dead on roadside

Antwon Carmichael Obituary, Death; – A multi-agency investigation has resulted in the arrest of four individuals in relation to the death of a teenager from Orangeburg County, whose body was discovered discarded beside a road in South Carolina.

On Friday, the Dorchester County Sheriff’s Office announced a significant development in the case concerning 18-year-old Antwon Carmichael, who was found wrapped in white bedding along White House Pond Road in the Rosinville area. The inquiry commenced on August 3 when deputies were alerted to a “suspicious package resembling a body.” Upon arrival, deputies confirmed it was indeed a body, although the victim’s identity was not immediately established.

The South Carolina Law Enforcement Division (SLED) became involved in the investigation and provided assistance with a forensic sketch that was made public on August 7. Six days after the discovery, investigators were able to identify the victim as Carmichael.

Subsequently, the focus of the investigation shifted to uncovering more details surrounding his death. Authorities later verified that Carmichael had died at 36 Peppertree Lane on or about August 2.

On Thursday, the Dorchester County Sheriff’s Office apprehended four suspects: 40-year-old Jay Kirkland Sneed, 34-year-old Jessicle Mirclelynn Williams, 37-year-old Shaquanan Lashia Frayer, and 40-year-old Antoine Johmar Lott.

Sneed and Williams face charges of murder and being an accessory before the fact to the desecration of human remains. Additionally, Sneed has been charged with possession of a weapon during the commission of a violent crime.

Frayer and Lott have been charged with being accessories after the fact to murder and desecration of human remains. The sheriff’s office expressed gratitude to several agencies that contributed to the case, including SLED, the Dorchester County Coroner’s Office, the sheriff’s offices of Charleston and Lexington counties, as well as federal partners. The North Charleston Police Department was also acknowledged for its vital role in collecting evidence and facilitating arrests in this matter.
