Anthony Smith Death; – More than a month after the discovery of a deceased 15-year-old, authorities have arrested another individual of the same age, as reported by the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department.
On September 4, the family of 15-year-old Anthony Smith reported him missing, prompting a search effort. Subsequently, on September 10, human remains were located in the 600 block of Silverleaf Road, near Old Pineville Road. The following day, the remains were confirmed to be those of Smith, with the North Carolina Medical Examiner’s Office determining that he had been shot and killed.
On October 23, law enforcement officials apprehended and charged a 15-year-old in connection with the murder. The investigation has involved the CMPD’s Missing Persons Unit, Homicide Unit, and the Violent Criminal Apprehension Team (VCAT).
